Gary Judge - Author
Hi!
Welcome to my space!
This is where I can show you my latest books and share some short stories and excerpts with you.
Relax.
Look around.
If you are new here, let me introduce myself. I'm from New Zealand and have been living in Japan for over 30 years. I'm fascinated by Japanese history and the subject is a strong influence to much of my work. When I get away from modern suburbia , I find places that just ooze with the vibes of ancient drama. Hunting down the records of what happened in those locations gives me great material for stories.

The Kabuki Murders
My recently released trilogy, End of Edo, begins with The Kabuki Murders. The story of Dai-ichiro, a boy growing up in a well-to-do samurai family, who must take the solving of a murder into his own hands, in order to save his Kabuki theater friends. His advantage? A thread of communication with the land of the dead.

Dragon on the Mountain
Part Two of the trilogy, Dragon on the Mountain, follows Dai-ichiro, as his family is forced to move to the Kai province, at the foot of Mount Fuji. The town is cursed with a string of religious assassinations which the authorities are failing to solve. Dai-ichiro and his young friends must step up and become samurai to challenge the evil mystery.

Day of Consequence
The final part of the trilogy finds Dai-ichiro being caught up in an uprising against the Shogun's oppressive regime. Late in the Edo era, thousands of ronin have little to do than wait for their chance of avenging their deposed Daimyo lieges. But only one young samurai will have a chance of reaching the core of the evil.

The Timeline History of the English Language
Some years ago, I started writing non-fiction. My first project--The Timeline History of the English Language--took me about five years to research and write but it has been selling well on amazon.com ever since. The goal was to make our language's history simple and visual. You can see more pictures and read about it in the About Me section. (Paperback only)

Understanding the Japanese
My second work was a challenge at describing that enigma - the Japanese character and culture. After living in Japan for twenty-five years I felt qualified to attack this mystery of the Japanese psyche and its resulting culture. (Paperback only)
